Our Vetted Supplier Network: From NADCAP Vendors to Local Finishing Shops

At Peerless Precision, we’re proud of our range of capabilities, from CNC milling to more specialized offerings, such as our lapping services. But even though we handle many precision machining operations in-house, many specialized processes are performed through our trusted NADCAP vendors.

Our team relies on our trusted vendor network for heat treating, plating, non-destructive testing, and other specialized processes. We can manage these steps on your behalf, allowing you to benefit from vetted partners without having to coordinate with multiple suppliers.

This network provides us with the flexibility to help you find the best price and lead time for your projects, without ever compromising on quality. Discover how we connect our customers’ projects with the right partner, and why we are always looking to add new vendors.

How We Vet and Qualify Our Vendors

We’re always looking to expand and strengthen our network with high-performing vendors. Because quality is non-negotiable, we always begin the relationship with a rigorous qualification process.

NADCAP VendorsWe often find new vendors through word of mouth or at industry events, such as those hosted by the NTMA. If they can help us fill a gap in our existing network, the first step is verifying essential credentials: certifications, core capabilities, and alignment with our customer requirements. As an AS9100 machine shop with extensive aerospace and defense customers, that often means looking for ITAR registration or NADCAP vendors.

Beyond credentials, we focus on value, responsiveness, and reliability. We always start any partnership with a small quantity and low-risk part to evaluate their quality firsthand, and then expand slowly from there.

Built on Trust: Delivering Through Long-Term Connections

Some of our vendor relationships go back decades. At one local shop, the whole shipping and receiving department knows our team by name. That kind of familiarity is built through consistent delivery and transparent communication.

These relationships allow us to confidently entrust certain suppliers with our customers’ projects. Additionally, the size of our network is a major benefit. When we have multiple qualified vendors for a given process, we leverage this flexibility to find the best price and lead time for your specific needs. For example, if your project isn’t aerospace-related, we may opt to use a heat treater that isn’t one of our NADCAP vendors to ensure we aren’t adding unnecessary cost to your project.

When customers collaborate with us, they rarely see this behind-the-scenes coordination, but it’s a significant value-add to their projects. Our efforts to find the best match are reflected in your quote. And since we manage your outside processes, you only need to communicate with us, streamlining your supply chain.

Quality Always Comes First

It can be tempting to focus on price or lead time when evaluating vendors, but the truth is that quality is always the top priority. If a vendor can’t meet our quality expectations, nothing else matters. Rework, delays, and lost trust cost far more in the long run.

From NADCAP vendors to specialized finishers, our network is an extension of our shop, built on the same values we offer to all our customers: craftsmanship and accountability. As a precision parts manufacturer, we always aim to deliver the highest quality products on time and cost-effectively.
